On December 10, 2009, Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Philip D. Moeller visited Beacon Power headquarters in Tyngsboro, Mass. Following a presentation and discussion, he was given a tour of the factory including assembly and test areas, engineering, and the Smart Energy Matrix flywheel systems (both indoors and out), that are operating on the ISO New England grid.
