Site Development Project Manager
Beacon Power designs and builds sustainable energy storage systems that can deliver "megawatts for minutes" to provide power grid frequency regulation, as well as support other applications. We've recently moved into a new headquarters facility and are expanding our workforce. We have an immediate opening for a Site Development Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for identifying and developing multiple sites for our regulation plants in domestic target markets. Success in this position will be achieved by rapidly creating an inventory of ready-to-build plant sites on a schedule and budget that supports our corporate timing and plans for commercial plant deployments within each target market.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10 years of relevant project management and project development experience
- Able to initiate, plan, organize and coordinate multiple activities on demanding time schedules
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal/presentational, written)
- Ability to work collaboratively; ability to recruit and manage a variety of external consultants
- Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt and adjust to necessary changes
- Relevant research and computer skills
- Travel: up to 40 percent
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study
Additional Experience Desired:
- Real estate and/or land development
- Contracts, negotiating options and purchase rights for land
- Utility or ISO experience: planning, real estate, transmission/distribution
- Experience working with town committees, planning departments, zoning and permit issues
- Engineering, finance, land use planning
