6 kWh, Beacon's Smart Energy 6 system is perfect for remote
terminal power backup for the telecommunications industry and
a wide range of applications for cable TV, wireless and broadband
companies. The Smart Energy 6 can be tuned to your power output
requirements with 36, 48 or 96 VDC ratings.
Each Smart Energy flywheel from Beacon offers many technical
advantages, including:
- No Scheduled Maintenance
Beacon's flywheels are installed underground to free space
and improve site aesthetics. All flywheel components are
housed in a sealed container. An internal vacuum system
eliminates friction caused by air drag.
- 20-year Design Life
Beacon's Patented Co-mingled Rim Technology® (PCRT) flywheels are designed for 20 years of operation
resulting in excellent ROI.
- Real-time Monitoring
Twelve parameters of flywheel and system performance can
be monitored remotely. Active signaling of power outage
events is also available.
- Sustainable Technology
Flywheels eliminate the lead acid disposal issues of batteries
and do not require the fuel of generator sets. Consequently,
permitting is simplified and ground contamination and safety
issues are avoided.
- Temperature Tolerance
Unlike batteries that degrade in performance at temperature
extremes, flywheels exhibit no change in output or life
span based on climate. In fact, a flywheel is often the
only viable solution for harsh remote applications.
