Government Programs
We work together with state and federal governments, organizations, and legislatures to identify and secure funding, and/or to reduce or avoid potential costs (via loans, contract, grants, legislation, etc.), for programs and projects that are for the mutual benefit of Beacon Power and its shareholders, the government, and our nation.
Primary Activities
Through our Government Programs office we engage in the following primary activities:
- Review and respond to program announcements (e.g., Broad Area Announcements, Requests for Information, Loan Programs, Funding Opportunity Announcements, etc.)
- Review, evaluate and comment on state and federal legislation
- Keep state and federal legislators fully informed on the benefits and advantages of flywheel technology
- Examine and develop teaming relationships with various government entities and partners
- Examine and pursue overseas opportunities in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Commerce
- Publish technical results of government-funded programs as appropriate
- Present to various energy-focused government organizations (e.g., U.S. Energy Association)
